The break-in mallet is used to strike the pocket and hinge points to form shape and encourage flexibility. The pounding pad provides a firm but forgiving surface that absorbs impact and helps protect glove leather while shaping. Used together, the mallet and pad offer better control and more consistent results when breaking in baseball and softball gloves.

The pounding pad is handmade in-house and used in our workshop. The mallet is made in the USA. Both tools are selected and used by John Golomb, The Original Glove Doctor.
