The break-in mallet is used to strike the pocket and hinge points to form shape and encourage flexibility. The pounding pad provides a firm but forgiving surface that absorbs impact and helps protect glove leather while shaping. Used together, the mallet and pad offer better control and more consistent results when breaking in baseball and softball gloves.
The pounding pad is handmade in-house and used in our workshop. The mallet is made in the USA. Both tools are selected and used by John Golomb, The Glove Doctor.
Baseball glove lacing needles for repair and relacing. Hold the end of your leather lace securely so you can pull it through holes and channels. Available in small and large sizes.
The small needle works in tighter areas like the palm and through grommets. The large needle gives you more reach and leverage for longer runs and thicker sections. Most lacers keep both sizes on hand and choose based on the area they're working on.
How to use: Cut the end of your lace on an angle, twist it into the needle, and pull it through the glove as needed.

Professional baseball glove relacing tool. Hardwood handle, hardened steel shaft, open eye pull needle.
Unlike a lacing needle that pushes lace forward through the glove, this pull needle works in reverse. You push the empty needle through the glove from the side where you want the lace to come out. When the eye appears on the opposite side, you thread the lace through and pull it back. This lets you set the path before the lace moves.
The hardwood handle gives you leverage. The steel shaft won't bend. Essential for anyone relacing their baseball or softball glove.
